New Jersey Parish Blesses Crèche and Christmas Trees

Father Mhonchan Ezung, parochial vicar
at Immaculate Conception Parish in Spotswood, NJ, Deacon Tom, and parishioners gathered on the parish grounds following the 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday, December 1, to bless the Christmas Crèche and 85 Memorial Christmas Trees purchased by parishioners to honor both the living and the dead .
Monsignor Joseph Curry, pastor, thinks this is a  wonderful way to begin the Advent season. S Marie Teresa Soltys, CSSFsaid she thinks it looks magnificent when all 85 little Christmas trees are lit every night on the grounds adjacent to the convent.
She said, “The rain that evening did not dampen the spirits of all who were there for this wonderful celebration of Advent/Christmas.”  She added, “It helps everyone to better understand that Jesus is the Light of the world!”
