SM Ambrose Wozniak, province coordinator for the Cause of Blessed Mary Angela, painted a picture of Blessed Mary Angela’s life and spirituality in her presentation to the Felician Associates at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Convent, Coraopolis, PA, on Sunday, March 4.

With a backdrop of paintings of Sophia Truszkowska as a child, teen, young woman, tertiary and Felician Sister,  Sister Ambrose highlighted many important aspects of Blessed Mary Angela’s life from 1825-1899.
In speaking of Angela’s spirituality, Sister Ambrose emphasized her love of Mary, the Eucharist, prayer, compassion and mercy, and love of God and neighbor. She spoke of her great humility in letting go of leadership and offering her sufferings for the good of community.
Sister Ambrose posed the questions: What did you learn about Blessed Mary Angela that you had not known before? What aspects of the presentation touched your heart?
Associates Judy Carlucci, Patti Lorenzi, Bob Sonoski, Stella Slaczka, Marcia Simon, Marie McCullough, Barb Marshall, and Mary Lou Lanza shared their thoughts and asked more questions. According to SM Faith Balawejder, area associate co-coordinator, the associates also benefited from the presence and comments of SM Cabrini Procopio, SM Justice Przybocki, SM Thaddea Meyers, and co-coordinator SM Clarence Borkoski who attended the presentation.
In light of the 25th Anniversary of Blessed Mary Angela’s Beautification on April 18, 2018, Sister Ambrose also spoke of the canonization process and traced some of the history of the journey toward Blessed Mary Angela’s beatification. She encouraged all to continue praying for her canonization.
Associate Mary Lou Lanza summarized the thoughts of many of the associates about the afternoon when she said, “Good speaker and a lot of good information. I enjoyed the afternoon very much.”
