THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK FROM ST. AUGUSTINE SPIRITUALITY CENTER

This Sunday St. Paul uses the “human body” as an example of our relationship to Christ and one another.

“You are Christ’s body and individually parts of it…through Baptism.” (1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 27) Another quote is “we were all given to drink of one Spirit.” What could this mean? Is it like the need for the human body to drink water to survive? The comparison complements the need for the members of the Body of Christ to be nourished by the Holy Spirit in order to give a generous response to the Word. Each member seeks to discover the part in spreading the Good News. Of course, the first place is in the family. What spiritual gifts are you sharing – wisdom, joy, peace, forgiveness, courage, fidelity, etc.?
