Felician College School of Education Nationally Accredited
Felician College in Lodi, NJ, is pleased to announce that the School of Education has received accreditation for its undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs for seven years under the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) quality principles. TEAC supports the preparation of competent, caring, and qualified professional educators through an evidence-based accreditation process.
“The accreditation of our School of Education is a reflection of the excellence of our program and the dedication of our faculty,” said Dr. Anne Prisco, president of Felician College. “Our clinically-rich program is designed to develop personal, intellectual, and professional qualities that are essential for excellent, caring, highly competent teachers.”
The Felician School of Education, with more than 200 candidates at the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate and graduate levels, develops cutting-edge educators by combining education theory with practical teaching experience. Intensive field experience is a hallmark of the program, with students spending an entire day each week in real classroom settings beginning in their freshman year of study. This hands-on approach provides students with a deeper understanding of how children learn and familiarizes them with the challenges facing education in our society today. As a result, for the past three years, an independent panel of educators has chosen a Felician student as a State of New Jersey Distinguished Student Teacher.
