Sunday, June 16, marked the occasion for joyous celebration of the Golden Anniversary of consecrated life of S Joanne Marian Kaminski at Our Lady of the Angels Convent in Enfield, CT.
Family and friends later joined the Felician Sisters to celebrate the Eucharistic Liturgy amid the splendid colors of gold, yellow and white which adorned the altar of Our Lady of the Angels Convent Chapel.
In his homily, Father Michael Zielke, OFM, Conv focused on the commitment to witness to the glory of God following in the footsteps of St Francis, St Clare, and Blessed Mary Angela in and with the community that Sister Joanne and all Felician Sisters make. He told those gathered: “It’s not about us, but it is about God. We answer the call from God in the vowed life. The call for Sister Joanne has not changed in 50 years . . .she and we must remain attuned to God’s voice; we must remain faithful to our calling and be disciples of Jesus.”
According to Sister Joanne, “We offer . . . all praise and all thanksgiving to our merciful and loving Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for 50 years of consecrated life as a Felician Franciscan Sister.”
